Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I really hope you had an great Christmas and if you go to the New Years party at the church, I can promise you'll have a great time. This year has its first Victory's Got Talent, you will not be disappointed. I heard some of the acts and the best of the best will be preforming. Plus free food! Seriously though this is the prefect time to invite some one new. Free food, good music, and the harvesting of lost souls. Could there be a better way to kick off the new year?

The Twelve Days Of Christmas

So have you ever wondered about buying your "True Love" a partridge in a pear tree, two turtle doves, three french hens, four calling birds, five golden rings, six geese-a-laying, etc. you may want tho think again. the 2011 price estimate hits $24,263.18. You could use that money to get a new car, a down payment on a house, or to finally pay those pesky library fines.

Witness wherever you go. You may never know how big of an impact it made. It's that Chain of Grace the pastors are always talking about. Who Know? That STRANGER you witness to might be the next Billy Graham. C:

The Power of Grace

But we are all as unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6a We've all heard this before, but meditate on it for a moment. Think of every good thing you've ever done, all you best moments. They are as filthy, putrid rags. Now think of every terrible thing you've ever done, everything you're ashamed of, things you hope no one ever finds out. God saw you then and loved you. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we where still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. There's a quote that I've heard may times: It wasn't the nails that held Jesus to the cross it was love. God has done so much for you, never forget that. He chose you despite the flaws and failures because He saw who you could be in Him.

Service

Reminder, no youth this month except the Christmas party (17th december), and the New years eve (31st december) concert/service. 6pm

Christmas Party

Hey Teens! Guess what! We are having a Christmas (emphasis on the CHRIST in CHRISTmas) on Saturday Decemeber 17, 2011. Please show up and bring a dish. Its going to be a big ol' pot luck. Invite a friend to come join and don't forget we have the baggage claim skit that week too.

Another reminder, if you are planning on going to the winter camp, pay Chad and Marie $25 ASAP. It's going to be a blast. Every adult who went to a winter camp growing up remembers their experience, this will be an everlasting experience for you too. Unless you want to be that person who says i'm too busy to go, then you spend the next three days on the couch playing Modern Warefare 3, just to realize you stink at the game.

What do I have to be thankful for?

I know sometimes when under attack our first reaction is to complain to God. Our first reaction is to question why us? Well, why not? What makes us so special? If you look at 1 Thessalonians 5:18 you'll notice we're supposed to give thanks in every circumstance. So what do you have to be thankful for? When we look around and see so many problems it's hard to see the blessings we take for granted? When you woke up this morning did you wake up on the streets or in a bed? Look around for the things you might not noticed you have. Are your parents serving God? I know it may seem difficult at first but you must push your self put of your self-pity and look at every thing you do have. You are a Child of God! You are more than a Conqueror! God is for you, so who can be against you? Praise God for allowing Him to grow you through this trial, instead of complaining and never growing. God is good!!!!

Changing the World

Not too long ago some one told me there has only been two real revolutionaries in the world. To be honest I was perplexed at the notion, after all the men and women that played in part of history there are only two worth mentioning. Well I figured one out... JESUS, but the other was Adam. You see these are the two that have completely changed humanity. How so? Adam brought sin unto the world and Jesus came to take it away. Everyone else just moved the furniture around. :) So think about because every day your making a choice. Will you stand in Sin? Or be cleansed by the merciful Savior? Each day you represent your choice and there is no middle ground. Make a decision and stand by it because people are watching and if you are the only "bible" they ever "read" everything they will ever know about Jesus are your actions. 1 Peter 1:16

Riddles!!!

So you know the drill. But there's three riddles this time!

1)You ponder and think
and try not to sink
you stumble over these words
till they drive you absurd.

What am I?

2)Which sentence is correct:
Three times two IS seven.
Three times two Are seven.

3)If 5+3+2 is 151022
And 9+2+4 is 183652
And 8+6+3 is 482466
And 5+4+5 is 202541

Then what does 6+3+5 equal?

Gimmie a title

*clap* *clap* *clap* Well the hype of the rapture happening at 6 today is finally over. Good reason why we should all read our bibles and stay in prayer with God. If we don't, then we allow the devil to implant thoughts in our heads. Praise God for his love and mercy!

0 to 200 in 6 seconds

Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was
really angry.

She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the
driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!"

The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke
up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box
gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.

Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought
the box back in the house.

She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

Bob has been missing since Friday.

Testimony Time!

Hello, I'm Priscella Trujillo and I got saved July 25, 2010. Since that day God has really changed me. He showed me I had a better life waiting for me! I grew up in a church, but as I got older I stopped going, my relationship with God faded away. Before I got saved, I was doing a lot of wrong things and I really didn't care about myself or my family. I grew up around a lot of alcohol. That alone hurt me so much. I never understood why drinking and going out was so importantand I wasn't. For most of my life I didn't really care because I was able to be with friends, doing what I wanted, or finally getting a break from all the fighting my mom and I did. Growing up my mom was never there for me, we would fight everyday and it got worse as I got olderit got to the point where I would go hurt myself just to take the pain away, and at times I thought that was all I had. I wouldn't eat for days and I was just so depressed for so many years, even worse—LOST. I hated myself with a true passion since I was about nine years old because I never felt good enough for my parents to love me and pay attention to me. I really would only go to God when I couldn't hurt myself, but now I see and know, God was THERE standing with me throughout all my hurt, feeling MY pain. He never left me, even when I though I was too far away from Him to hear me!

During my summer I had visited my sister and she took me to her church. The first two times I went God was really gripping my heart, but I was too scared to go to the altar. My last Sunday there, their Pastor kept saying, "God is telling me there is one person here who needs to come up." I KNEW it was me and I remember my heart pounding. I kept saying, "you're not going up there!" but God's grip that day was too strong for me to just sit there! I found myself walking up that aisle. I admitted my sins and the feeling I had after giving my life to God is indescribable! All of my pain, anger, sadness, stress, and heaviness lifted off of me. I only felt relief and love. Since that day I haven't walked away from Him and He will never walk away from me! No day is perfect, but now I'm always looking for ways to show my family they can come back to God and there's more to life than what they're giving themselves. I let God take lead in my life and because of that He has blessed me with a church family and a year ago he put my best friend Brandon in my life. No matter what I have to go through my faith in God will never go away. I'm so much better because of HIS LOVE and I've NEVER been so happy. I'm going to follow God wherever he leads. I just pray that what He's doing for me, my parents will allow Him to do it for them.

Get a laugh

Redneck joke

From A Mother With Love
Dear Child,

I am writing this slow because I know that you can't read fast.

We don't live where we did when you left home.

Your dad read in the paper that most accidents happen within 20 miles from your home so we moved.

I won't be able to send you the address, as the last family that lived here took the house numbers when they left so that they wouldn't have to change their address.

This place is real nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not sure if it works too well though.

Last week I put a load in, pulled the chain, and haven't seen them since.

The weather isn't too bad here., it only rained twice last week, The first time it rained for three days and the second time for four days. The coat you wanted me to send you, your Uncle Steve said it would be a little too heavy to send in the mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets. We got another bill from the funeral home.

They said if we don't make the last payment on Grandma's grave, up she comes. John locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were worried because it took him two hours to get me and Shelby out.

Your sister had a baby this morning but I haven't found out what it is yet, so I don't know if you're an aunt or an uncle. If the baby is a girl, your sister is going to name it after me, she's going to call it Mom.

Uncle Pete fell in a whiskey vat last week. Some man tried to pull him out but he fought them off and drowned. We had him cremated and he burned for three days.

Three of your friends went off a bridge in a pick-up truck. Ralph was driving. He rolled down the window and swam to safety. Your two friends were in the back. They drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down.

There isn't much more news at this time. Nothing much has happened.

PS, I was going to send you some money but the envelope was already sealed.

Sunday, May 15, 2011

So, Abby and I have a joke for you...

I mustache you a question, but I'm shaving it for later.

Ha ha ha.

PBC meeting

Heh, note to self: Put the knife away before i put the bowl away.
2nd note: If i put the bowl away, lay the knife down instead of holding the sharp point towards my face when opening the drawer.

PBC meeting tonight (May 15th) after night service! Don't miss out.

It's been a WEEK and no one has POSTED!

Hey guys! Whether you're a blogger or not, I find it very disappointing to go on the blog and see that nothing has been posted! Does anybody have any fun ideas for things to put on the blog?

Anyways... This weekend, we aren't doing anything extra, "We gonna have fun" in a good, old fashioned YOUTH SERVICE!!! Wherein there is going to be a GUEST SPEAKER! Who? I don't know. That, is why you need to be there! YAY!

HAve a good weekend everybody, and when you get a chance, hand out a tract, tell someone about JESUS!

Friday, Friday, Gotta Get Down on Friday!

So I found this parody of "Friday", and even though this one is called "Sunday," I decided I would still post it today, on Friday. While it is really corny, and you might not be able to watch the entire thing, it does have a good message. Jesus is alive. Also the rap is MUCH more clever in this version of the song. Enjoy!

Oh and before you log off, remember that we are gonna have some fun, fun, fun tonight at Palmer Park (over on Maizeland and Academy) at six o'clock.

Tomorrow after youth we're going to Red Robin, so bring some cash.

Have fun everybody!

If you check the news you may find something very shocking...apparently Usama Bin Laden has been killed by the U.S. during an operation. Obama comfirms him dead, but muslims are in disbelief. Very intersting...

Taylor's riddles

Whoever answers all of these riddles right gets a free candy from the snack shack :) 1. You throw away the outside, cook the inside. Eat the outside and then throw away the inside. What did you eat? 2. What goes around the world but stays in a corner? 3. The man who invented it doesn't want it, the man who bought it doesn't need it, and the man who needs it doesn't know it. What is it? 4. Throw me off the highest building and I won't break but put me in water and I will. What am I?

Monday, April 4, 2011

So close!!!

*Sniffs the air* what do i smell you ask? Sweat...tears...anxiousness dripping from your foreheads at the announcement of where we all will be going for PBC! Payment is due this month on April 24th...which is a Sunday just so yo all know, and apparently my brother's birthday which i just now realized as i was typing this. (consider that a note to myself). Try to have your money in by then, if you are unable to, please talk to Tyler or Shaunna. (You would have gotten an image, but the site was being uncooperative)

Where's it from?

I'm going to put one song lyric, a quote by some one famous, and a movie quote. Guess which is which and where's it from!! (song lyric must have the artist name and the song name, Movie must have the character who said it and the movie it's from, quote only needs the person who said it)
1) Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands.
2) So what do we do then? With tragedy around the bend?
3) Them? Us? Look at them... They are us! What differences do you see?
Okay, I think it's pretty simple. I'll buy the winner a treat if they can figure it out before April 6. Oh and don't use search engines... it takes out all the fun! :D

Fun Night!!!

Tonight we are having a fun night for the youth at seven (7) pm at the church. I would advise wearing something dark, and some sort of eye protecting glasses *hint* *hint* Also, be aware of fuzzy creatures crawling around the church tonight.

SPRING BREAK!

So who's glad they get a whole week off of school?! I for sure am! Have any spectacular plans for this weekend? If you're like me, then you don't. But I've got some things that can spark your week up! Let's start with tonight. Bible study is at seven o'clock! We are wrapping up our dating series, so the girls are at the Purvis' and... well... honestly I don't know where the guys are, so call Tyler or Josh! Since it the last night, we are going to be doing something fun, girls, bring your favorite fruit, fresh or frozen, cuz we're gonna be making some smoothies! and guys, your gonna make some ice cream sundaes, so bring your favorite topping to wherever the destination is!

Of course there is youth tomorrow at six and church on sunday at ten and six!

Don't forget that the total payment for Pioneer Boot Camp is due at the end of April, so start doing all you can to make some DOUGH! Here are some ideas to make some money:

-Get a Job!
-It's almost spring time, which means yard work!
-Babysit!
-Walk some dogs!
-Pet sitting!
-Go through some of your stuff to see what you don't use or play with anymore and sell it!
-Wash cars!
-Clean houses!
-Collect change. Get a jar or something, and if you see a penny on the ground, put it in your pocket. Later, put it in the jar, and that penny and other change accumulated from various places will add up!
-YARD SALE!
-Recycle your old cans and bottles and bring them to that recycling place!
-Girls: I've heard some of you complaining about how you want to cut your hair... do it. And if there is enough, sell it. Your hair will go towards some one who needs it, and the money will go towards pbc!
-Working for your parents. Just around the house, or if mom or dad owns a business, they might be able to use your help. Even if they work for a company, they may be able to hook you up with a part-time job there
-Intelligent? Maybe talk to some parents of younger kids to see if you could tutor them for a profit!
-Get creative! Make or bake something and sell it!

Of course there are so many other ways you can make money, but there is one thing you MUST remember... Tithing. it's onlt ten percent, and by giving that ten percent you will most definately be blessed!

Have an Awesome spring break everyone!

Randomness!

Teacher: I had a rough weekend so i couldn't grade your papers.
Student: What happened?
Teacher: I was driving in woodland park at night with my kids, and i hit a deer.
Student: That's common isn't it?
Teacher: Not as much as you think. Whats worse is the psychological damage my kids faced.
Student: Whys that?
Teacher: They keep going around telling me I killed Bambi...

My College class is never boring haha. Outreach to Brighton on saturday! Be at the church BEFORE 9am! But preferable 15 minutes before. A movie will be playing that night, and its someone is having a birthday!

Bubblegum!

The surprise inside the box wasn't anything like i expected, but it still was a big shock. Remember everyone who made those pledges to try your hardest to gain the money, but most importantly have faith that God will provide. Put that faith in action. I personally can't wait until the construction is done, lets all try to get involved and help out as much as we can.

I don't feel like coming up with a clever title.

This weekend, there is alot of things going on. First off, There is no bible study this friday, and no youth on Saturday. Instead, we are having our annual dinner theatre! This year we are doing "Way off Broadway!" (Its a comedy!) So come friday and saturday to to help. Im not sure what time you have to be there, so call Tyler or Shaunna. Peace Out!

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Don't forget we have the Way Off Broadway on Friday and Saturday. We need some more help setting up on Thursday at 6:30pm, so i you can make it to that, it would be greatly appreciated. Everything is at 6:30 i believe...if not that will be corrected later.

The weekend is here! Invite a friend!

For most people, weekends are alot like rainbows; they look good and fun from a distance, but disappear when you get up close to them. Thankfully, for the oneighty youth goers, we have something to look forward to and make it last!

Starting Friday night at 7:00, is the second part of the bible study on Dating and Relationships at Tyler and Shaunna's Place and Josh and Alainna's place! It's a great time to really talk to one other and fellowship after!

Saturday night at 6:00 is youth, for a time of praise and worship and a sermon. But come early for prayer at 5:15 so you can get a chance to connect with God before youth starts! Be sure to bring $3 because after youth we are gonna have some fun with food, fellowship and games!

Sunday there is church at 10:00 and 6:00. So be sure to make it!

A War From Within

This Saturday, February 5th, Tyler preached a sermon titled "A War from Within." Our thoughts not only come from our heads, but our hearts. We have intellectual thoughts (daily thoughts about everyday matters, like school or brushing your teeth) and Spiritual "heart thoughts," which need extra attention and care. Our hearts must be guarded diligently. So many people are tormented in their minds because of the things that go on in their hearts - we can't just think whatever we want and still think it's okay. In our hearts, there is always a war raging over whether we should serve God, or do what our flesh wants; what only pleases us, but not God. To win that war, we need a heart made pure by the Lord. We should also focus on the things of God, and not deal with unprofitable things, such as video games, especially if they become a hindrance in our walk with God.
