Thin, I am quick,

Weekend Has Changed...

Hey Remnant Youth, plans have changed. Our trip to Cheyenne has been postponed. Due to the men's discipleship on Saturday, we are going to hold off our outreach in Wyoming until next month. Which means what on Saturday night? Spending the evening in front of the tv? No way! We are having youth service! So be prepared to meet God in the youth sanctuary that night. Come prayed up and ready for an awesome night.
For those going to Bible Study Friday night, do some research and give some thought on one of the most known scriptures and ever popular response in evangelism: 'Judge not, lest you be judged.' We are going to, as always, rightly divide the Word of Truth, and find out what place God has given us in when it comes to judging. So here are some scriptures to look over, think about, and come prepared to talk about. 1 Cor 2:15, 6:3, 6:5, Matt 28:19-20, Luke 12:57, Lev 19:15, 17, Prov 27:5, Matt 7:1-5
Have a good rest of the week, and remember that we are called to advance the Kingdom of God here and now!

Youth Spotlight: Esmi Erives

I was brought up in church my whole life. But, I was expected to go with my family to church. So I really did'nt have a relationship with God. As I grew older I began to understand that I needed a personal relationship with Jesus. I accepted Jesus as my savior when I was 10 years old.
Now, it has been three years since I've been saved. I now think of others and am involved in Youth, Life Changer's, and Nursery. I'm blessed and can't wait to see what God has in store for me.

Youth Spotlight: Elena Moya

"I was raised Catholic in New Mexico. My mom and my dad got a divorce when I was two and dad had moved away. I did not understand it completely until I grew up, then it was my excuse for everything. I did not understand the way God worked from a young age because I thought if God was real He would have a dad for me and have everything would be a fairy tale. Reality struck, and I got into drugs and played around with them for I while. I built up a wall before God because I got so mad at Him and blamed everything on Him. I did not want anything to do with Him. Until one day I sat there, in my garage, and thought what would happen if I would hang myself. Tears running down my face, I began to look for a rope but something told me no that day. I put up a front and acted like everything was alright. I was the type of girl who did not trust anyone and did not want anyone to care. Even though my life was crashing down on me I still managed to put that smile on my face. The spirit of suicide was pressed against me I almost did it, too many times to count. Than out of nowhere my dad went to jail and I felt that it was my fault. Meanwhile my dad got saved and wanted me to go to youth camp. So I went, went through the motions. I did not think God could touch me after all I did, and nothing changed. I went back home and the world still went by with all the heart ache. Anyways I went back the second year for camp and got delivered, set free, all things passed away. I was set on fire with the Holy Ghost. I did not have any of the burdens, no worries because God already paid them for me. I’m not going to lie it was a struggle going back home and still trying to be a vessel for God. There were the times of the rush of Gods hand on me and other times when I black slid. The devil came at me in dreams and with suicide. So for the third year of camp I decided not to go for whatever reason. But by the grace of God I got an opportunity to move up here(to Colorado). I've grown so much spiritually and still am. I just want to bring His name glory."

Cheyenne: Noisen It Up!

Here is just a taste of the concert on Saturday. Want to hear more? They'll be performing again this Saturday in Brighton, Colorado!

Cheyenne: Reach Out!

If you wanna see 50 youth get excited, tell them there is a outreach this Saturday alllll day loooong! Outreach is the heart of our church, Outreach and Road Trips are the heart of Remnant Youth!

We had a blast driving 3 hours up to Cheyenne, Wyoming to help pass out flyers for a concert at Pastor Manny and Ruthi's church. We took up four vans to Wyoming and sent 3 full (Define: Full - 15 passenger van carrying 18-22 people) vans out on outreach. We ran up and down stairs, knocked on door after door inviting people out to one amazing rock concert! After a couple hours we all came back to the church to chow down and get energized on delicious spaghetti and meatballs, salad, rolls, and cherry swirl cake!

Those of us that got our batteries really charged went back out to the "Powers" of Cheyenne (as Pastor Manny called it) and hit parking lots of Wal-Mart (before getting kicked out), Sams, Target, Hobby Lobby, JcPenney,
Dillards, and More! We ran and hit up over 700 cars! If thats not an adrenaline rush I don't know what is!

At 5:30 the music started...Dun, Dun Dun Dun...Exodus started off with their version of the famous Rocky Song! For two hours they rocked on and in the end the altars were full! We had so much fun and God really used that night!

On the way home we stopped at a fast food hot spot and found a taco
bell without tortillas...seriously. Then when we stopped at a gas station half way through and...oh my YOU JUST HAD TO BE THERE!?! This Saturday we're headed to Brighton! Grab your walking shoes and get ready to start off February with a bang!
