Solve this Riddle

The first person to solve this riddle correctly will receive a prize on Saturday. No cheating!

"My life can be measured in hours,
I serve by being devoured.
Thin, I am quick,
Fat, I am slow.
Wind is my foe.
What am I?"

A very unhealthy animal who doesn't like anything over a light breeze, because now that they are overweight, they can't get out of the cold wind as quick as they use to when they were thin. So they get depressed and think they are good for nothing except to go ahead be eaten and be put out of their misery.
That or a candle.

Richard Whiting: A candle, at first i believe it talks about a tapered candle("Thin, I am quick"), then a pillar candle("Fat, I am slow").

Whoever put the hippo etc comment needs to work on their spelling; every word over two letters, except hippo, was spelled wrong.
