The games we played included the.. well it doesn't really have a name.. it was more of a "Mold a sculpture out of the chewed gum of eleven people in your group" game. The second one was what I like to call "musical spoons of death." or in other words... well... you had to be there! It was so fun and i cant wait until next year! :-)

Youth Spotlight: Chantel's Testimony

I have grown up in church and have always known the truth my whole life because my parents and pastors have always told me like it is and never watered it down. At a young age I had a sensitive heart for God, I had child-like faith and believed that anything was possible. Things began to change when I became older and slowly I was introduced to things and people that I shouldn't of been introduced to. I have a good home but a few traumatic things happened and continued on through the years. But it ended at an abrupt halt one day. My older brother took his life at the age of 17. I was only 13 years old at the time. My brother was my hero, I wanted to be just like him and now he was gone. I thought I had problems before, but this changed everything. My heart became cold, I became hard and lifeless on the inside. I never showed emotion, I never talked to anyone about anything. I thought I was crazy because of the way that I felt on the inside. I couldn’t cry, I couldn’t open up, I couldn’t let go. It hurt so bad and I couldn’t get rid of the pain.

I tried to have boyfriends, I thought maybe they could take it away, or popularity, or friends, or clothes, or music, or looks, but it all just hurt me further. I did not know what peace was. It took three years of hurt and confusion to come humbly on my knees before God. I remember the day I was saved, it was Wednesday night at church. Not a special service, or a revival, just church. I remember thinking in that service that I was sick of myself, sick of my life, sick of the hurt and sick of being so confused all the time. And I knew that I was headed for a devils hell if I didn't change, so I made up in my mind that I was getting saved when he pulled that alter call, and I did. I don't remember what I prayed or said, I just remember thinking to myself, "I'm never going to be the same again". I was 16 years old. And since then, I haven't been the same. I thank God so much for all that He has done for me. It has been a long road but through it all God has been my closest friend. I have failed and messed up again and again. I can’t even count how many times. But no matter how far I fell because of my own decisions Jesus was always there to pick me right back up and set me on the right path again. I love Him. I would have nothing without Him.

Bible Study #2

Another amazing week at Bible Study. This week 11 people showed up so that's a good sign. Tonight Tyler talked about having an Appetite for Prayer. It was about how we all need to press in and strive for miracles in prayer, having a true appetite in prayer. "If we don't respond there's no reason to be called, especially by God. If we continually push off God and his callings, eventaully He will stop." God will always call us to do something but we have to have an appetite to go out and do it. Miracles happened in the bible because people went to God with an appetite for prayer. As you can see, an appetite for prayer was extremely important in this message. Don't forget Elitches tomorrow and Bible Study next week!!!!

JOKES AND RILDDES!!!!!!

these are gonna be pretty lame but whoever answers them gets a free small snack from the snack shack.
What does a cow listen to?
What do you get from a cow after an earth quake?
What does a cow do on Saturday nights?
answer and get a prize :)

Welcome Back to Bible Study

Bible Study is back in business, but where was everybody? Only five people showed up!! Despite the low numbers, it was still an amazing message. We went outside for it and Tyler talked about the Importance of Prayer. The message is pretty self explaintory but it was about how important prayer in our life and how much it's needed. Hopefully next week more people show up.

Forgotten Pictures

I've had many computer issues as of late; in the process, I forgot to post pictures of some things that have happened over the past 40 days or so. You can only add 5 per post, so I can only show so little of what happened. Nonetheless, enjoy.

Dodgeball at Josh's Bachelor party

Hanging out at Culvers

Kickball (this team did not win)

When camping, we found a baby Rabbit, killed it as soon as the picture was done, and had a chewy snack (just kidding for all those who gasped). It actually spent most of the day in David's shirt pocket before we set it free.

How many guys does it take to start a fire? It doesn't matter, we got it going; and just in time for the hour long rain.

For those who enjoy math...

The fattest knight at Sir Arthur's Round Table was Sir Cumference. He acquired his size from too much pi.

A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class because it was a weapon of math disruption!

Q: What do you get if you divide the circumference of a jack-o-lantern by its diameter?
A: Pumpkin Pi!

Teacher: "Who can tell me what 7 times 6 is?"
Student: "It's 42!"
Teacher: "Very good! - And who can tell me what 6 times 7 is?"
Same student: "It's 24!"

Trigonometry for farmers: swine and coswine...

Life is complex: it has both real and imaginary components.

"Students nowadays are so clueless", the math professor complains to a colleague. "Yesterday, a student came to my office hours and wanted to know if General Calculus was a Roman war hero..."

We are the Youth of the Nation!

On Friday night, we had the opportunity to co-host on Q 102.7 KBIQ for Youth Nation Friday Nights with host Maui! It was a blast! We each had a chance to speak on the air at least once. Some of us also got to answer questions that teens called in and asked. Shelby and Nic got to share their testimonies live. It was such a spectacular three hours! If you didn't get a chance to listen... you missed out! It was an amazing night!

Back to School Concert

Tonight, Remnant youth rocked out in our Back to School concert! Earlier today about twelve teens passed out fliers for the concert, so there were a few new faces. Forever and a Day played first; I was SO nervous, but that's okay because God is in control! Rize did four songs too. Their energy is amazing, and they have powerful songs preaching the Gospel. Collins's band played near the end, and they did awesome! Last, but not least, G.O., Robert, and Gabby performed a song they did in Oregon for PBC. The concert was fun and powerful!

Youth Spotlight: G.O.'s Testimony

I grew up in church my whole life but the first time I gave my life to Jesus was in 2005 at youth camp before my freshman year of highschool. But going back to school instead of giving my all to Jesus I strived to be popular and I got what I wanted. This went on until I was a junior in highschool. During a football game that year I was seriously injured and it put me out half of the season. I was mad and scared at the same time because the doctors said I had to get surgery. I didn't want to get surgery because I wanted to go to college. But God got a hold of my heart during this time and I realized He was more important than the popularity or anything else and my future was in His hands. That is when I gave my life back to Jesus during conference on a Friday night. God has changed me since then, I've had struggles and hard times but God has always been there for me and brought me through it. I thank Him for everything He's done for me.

Some fun back to school jokes!

Physics Teacher: "Isaac Newton was sitting under a tree when an apple fell on his head and he discovered gravity. Isn't that wonderful?"

Student: "Yes sir, if he had been sitting in class looking at books like us, he wouldn't have discovered anything."

A man in a hurry taking his eight-year-old son to school made a turn at a red light where it was prohibited.

"Uh-oh, I think I just made an illegal turn!" the man said.

"It's okay, Dad," the boy said, "The police car right behind us did the same thing."

A young woman teacher with obvious liberal tendencies explains to her class of small children that she is an atheist. She asks her class if they are atheists too. Not really knowing what atheism is but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks.

There is, however, one exception. A beautiful girl named Lucy has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different.

"Because I'm not an atheist."

Then, asks the teacher, "What are you?"

"I'm a Christian."

The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Lucy why she is a Christian.

"Well, I was brought up knowing and loving Jesus. My mom is a Christian, and my dad is a Christian, so I am a Christian."

The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly.

"What if your mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron. What would you be then?"

She paused, and smiled. "Then," says Lucy, "I'd be an atheist."

Pupil: Would you punish me for something I didn't do?

Teacher: Of course not.

Pupil: Good, cause I didn't do my homework

Teacher: Why didn't you answer me?
Pupil: I did; I shook my head.
Teacher: You don't expect me to hear it rattling from here, do you?!

Laugh and the class laughs with you.
But you get detention alone!

Teacher: The brain is a wonderful thing.
Pupil: Why do you say that ?
Teacher: Because it starts working the second you get up in the morning and never stops until you get asked a question in class !

Teacher: You copied from Fred's exam paper didn't you ?
Pupil: How did you know ?
Teacher: Fred's paper says "I don't know" and you put "Me, neither"!

2010 PBC dinner

on saturday july 24th we had our 2010 PBC dinner where we eat some delicious food provided by the teens and their families then we showed our videos from camp. The leaders gave a quick speech about their groups and what happened at pioneer boot camp then showed the videos and i've got to say, we've got some crazy teens in our youth group. There were teens jumping off railings into bushes to teens showing off their dancing skills to funny sleep pictures. From the videos you could tell that we all had an amazing time and many people we saved. I hope these videos and testimonies have inspired those who didn't go this year to want to go next year.

Youth Service, 7/3/10

Last Saturday at youth, our very own church band, Forever and a Day, led song service. Daniel sang, David played guitar, G.O. played drums, Daniella played keyboard, and both Daniella and I sang back-up. It was very exciting :-D. We watched a movie in youth called "Something to Sing About." It's about a young man named Tommy who has a rough life, but meets a nice old lady who drags him to church a couple times. Tommy eventually gets saved and realizes that God had His hand on him his whole life. It was a very touching movie.
